Background

The Wireless Chapter was formed in 2001 to provide an opportunity for local wireless and mobile businesses to confer about the issues, challenges and opportunities driving the local and global wireless mobile economy.

The Wireless Chapter is the conduit for information exchange to address issues affecting the fast-growing wireless and mobile communication industries via regular chapter activities and events.

The Wireless Chapter aims to:

• actively promote the development of wireless and mobile products and services
• provide regular networking activities for wireless and mobile industry organizations to identify and pursue business opportunities
• develop channels with the wireless and mobile communities to enable companies to build and export their products and services, and to gain insight and expertise from the world’s leading wireless and mobile markets
• work closely with the regulatory authorities on the latest developments, trends, business and regulatory issues to achieve the Chapter’s objectives
• represent the interest of the wireless and mobile communications business in Singapore.

The Wireless Chapter members comprise of infrastructure developers, system integrators, service providers, content providers, hardware vendors, software developers, academics and regulatory authorities. Members hail from both multi-national corporations and local small and medium enterprises.

All applicants must be SiTF members. Non-SiTF members can apply for SiTF membership together with Chapter membership and admission to the Wireless chapter is contingent on the approval of SiTF membership.
